Business Market Analyst, Bayo Rotimi, has advised President Muhammadu
Buhari to always have internal discussions with his team and meet with
them regularly.
He noted that the President and his team need to have a vision drive
and a purpose to have one direction and ensure everyone has a matching order.
Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s
breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, the business analyst stated that
one of the contributing factors to the issues facing the 2016 budget is
the late swearing in of ministers, as “everything (about the budget) had
to be done in a rush”.
Mr Rotimi criticized the controversies
surrounding the budget as disappointing. He said that the government is
supposed to be in continuity whether a new government has come in or not.
“What I would have expected is for the
permanent secretaries, ministries, directors to largely put the documents
together, and the minister who has not had sufficient time to review what has
been given unto him should have alerted for enough time,” he said.
He advised that everyone involved in the budget
process should come together in one room and agree on a solution as it pertains
to the development of the nation.
